Record no-till corn yields in Montana with little nitrogen fertilizer.
This farmer in Montana grew 245 bu/A corn with only 155 lbs/A nitrogen, which means he only applied 0.6 lbs of N per bushel. This suggests significant reductions in nitrogen applications are possible in corn where customarily 1.1 lb N per bushel is applied in Pennsylvania.
